How to work on a work order
Work orders guide the maintenance work to be performed on an aircraft. Use work orders to follow tasks, record actions, and ensure all work is properly documented.
Open a work order
Follow these steps to start working on a work order:
1. Go to Production → My Work Orders
2. Select the work order you want to work on
3. Open the work order details
Review the work order
Before starting work, review the details:
-
Aircraft and location
-
Description of the work
-
Tasks or steps to complete
-
Required parts and tools
Make sure everything is clear before beginning.
Perform the work
Carry out the maintenance tasks as defined in the work order.
-
Follow the listed tasks
-
Use the correct parts from Inventory
-
Ensure all actions meet required standards
Log your work
As you perform the work, record what you do:
-
Add notes or updates
-
Log time spent on tasks
-
Record any findings or deviations
This ensures full traceability and proper documentation.
Use parts and tools
If parts or tools are required:
-
Use parts that have been reserved or are available
-
Register usage where required
-
Ensure correct batch or serial tracking
Complete the work order
Once all work is finished:
1. Review all tasks and entries
2. Confirm that all work is completed
3. Mark the work order as completed (or equivalent status)
Make sure everything is documented before closing the work order.
Tips
-
Always review the work order before starting
-
Log work as you go — not after
-
Use correct parts and ensure traceability
-
Do not close the work order until all tasks are completed
